Change of Hands Evaluation

For my task me Gleb George and Kian were tasked to create a short film with the subject of the film being a item being exchange between two people. the setting, theme and style could be anything that we decided as long as the main focus was the exchange. We were also require to add a mixture of different camera shots and angles throughout the film, for example we would use a close up to show the emotion of a person's face or a low angle shot to make the person look powerful.

For our film we decided to create a gangster/mafia style film were we tried to represent the criminal theme during the 70's, 80's for this we decided that the item we would exchange would be some kind of drug and that during the editing process we would make the whole film black and white to further create the feeling of a older style film. everything we had was filmed inside the college grounds apart from our establishing shot which was film just outside the college. in our film in total lasted around 3 minutes as we used a large mixture of different shots and angles to make a good enough representation of the old style mafia/ gangster movies.

During our editing process we used Adobe Premiere which allowed us to join all of our footage together and allowed us to do a number of different processes and editing techniques to create the short film that we wanted. throughout the film we decided to included the song Schubert- Ave Maria as this song fit our mafia style theme very well and we felt like it created a good atmosphere throughout the film.

In conclusion I felt as if we did very well during our filming and editing and we managed to create a very good mafia style theme in our film with the focus of the film being the exchange of hands which played out very well. I also felt like we all contributed towards the making of the film.
